Building a Caring Classroom Community

Explore ways to develop a classroom culture that fosters respectful and supportive relationships and positive interactions among students.  Participants reflect on and use their own experiences to connect to the guiding principles of collaboration and community. Through video observations, reading, reflecting, and discussions, participants will learn strategies and structures for infusing social and emotional learning into the classroom.  This session combines a number of interactive activities to promote discussion on the topics of social and emotional learning, collaboration (among both adults and students), and building a sense of connectedness and community.
